Lantzville case study

Our clients in Lantzville  wanted to collect rainwater for landscape irrigation use, with the long term goal of using their collected rain water for toilet flushing. This area in Lantzville is known for its poor producing wells, rainwater harvesting is a great way to augment their current water system. A pergola was also constructed to support the conveyance pipe as it runs from below the gutter to the tanks.

Project features:

2 x 2000 US gallon Premier plastics cisterns

12" Wall mount first flush device

Leaf eater downspout filter

Two 2500 US gallon cisterns with conveyance pipe support and first flush device.

Close-up of first flush device which diverts the first .5 mm of rain that hits the roof.

This first flush of water has the highest level of contaminants and is not allowed to enter the cistens.
